Lineapelle returned to a physical show for A/W 22/23 to celebrate innovation-led progress.

Welcoming over 11,000 visitors from 70 countries, Lineapelle showcased sustainably focused material development led by new technologies.

The organizers partnered with D-house Laboratorio Urbano and C.L.A.S.S. Eco Hub to present a bustling A New Point of Materials exhibit. The space hosted a series of talks, live presentations, and product showcases, as well as interactions between visitors, exhibitors, and specialists across the industry, from material manufacturing to retail.

Although scaled down to three pavilions for this edition, Lineapelle housed collections from more than 700 exhibitors. Reflecting the positive mood, key directions included experimental techniques, outdoor performance, and heritage craftsmanship.

Heritage Wovens

Match traditional textures with noble fibers for premium-quality staples.

  • As outlined in our A/W 22/23 Leather and & Non-Leather Materials Forecast, as well as the A/W 22/23 Sourcing Guide, this Outdoors Heritage direction, is the mainstay for mindful consumption via investment pieces
  • Traditional plaids, tattersalls, ginghams, and stripes are enriched with bouclé, barleycorn, and brushed textures, ideal for iconic items such as #blanketdressing accessories
  • Fiber choice is key. Look to Luilor, Italian Converter, and Maniffatura Di Domodossola for traceable and GOTS-certified wools, cotton, and lyocell, as well as GRS nylon

Metaverse gloss

Shine and gloss finishes combine for virtual aesthetics.

  • Metallic shine, glossy coatings, and irregular textures are mixed to create an otherworldly effect driven by digital and metaverse experiences
  • Gloss-coated printed leather and non-leather articles offer escapist, transformative, and virtual geological surfaces, while metallics get a soft digital-like iridescence for products that grab attention in both physical and digital spaces
  • Opt for lower-impact options with recycled nylon and polyester bases, as well as recycled or water-based PU coatings, as seen at Chiorino Technology
