Responsible Innovation of the Leather Market

Lineapelle has an expanded focus on responsible innovation boosted by the increased confidence of the leather market.

Lineapelle S/S 23 welcomed visitors to its second physical show since the Covid-19 pandemic, celebrating new freedom, an eco-focused future and creativity through its Beautiful and Fragile theme.

Expanding from three pavilions to six and upping the exhibitors list to 960 vendors, the organizers delivered a sense of reassurance and confidence to the re-emerging leather goods market.

A focus on the intersection of craftsmanship, quality, sustainability and tech advancements was reflected in the second edition of A New Point of Materials program, plus three trend forums and seminars. The Shift to Regenerative Mobility project by Hyundai and Lineapelle focused on sustainable innovation.

The overarching trend message echoed the industry's interest in classic, artisanal and performance-proof investment leather and non-leather materials, plus mood-lifting and Metaverse-inspired developments.

Mesmerising skin-effect

Elevate skin effect with otherworldly surfaces.

  • The coloured snake embossed story, seen in the S/S 23 Footwear & Materials Forecast, is part of the mesmerising skin-effect direction that veers on the supernatural aesthetic, which is part of the S/S 23 Materials Forecast
  • Cracked and embossed glossy coatings are noted alongside technicolour shimmer, ombré and lenticular color breakdown, giving snake, crocodile and leopard skin effects an otherworldy luxe mood
  • Textural double-cloth jacquards and undulating piping pleats provide a fabric-based translation for soft accessories and bags
  • Use transformative finishes to hide surface imperfections of salvaged and recycled leathers unfit for smooth and premium applications, and go for water-based printing inks
