Padel client gifts in leather for year-end: tiered sets and the order dates that still work

A year-end client gift has a fixed date, a list of names and a budget per account. How to tier a leather padel set, personalise it per recipient, and count back from December to see whether a custom run is still possible.

A guide by TL San Martín, a tannery of origin in Elda (Alicante, Spain) since 1995, LWG Gold certified under the Leather Manufacturer standard.

A leather padel client gift works best as a tiered set: a bag for key accounts, a racket cover for the rest, each marked with your logo and a variable layer carrying the recipient's name. A custom run takes seven to nine weeks from first contact; an approved design repeats in three to four. For a mid-December delivery, that means starting a new design by the end of October.

Why is a padel gift a good year-end client gift?

Most year-end gifts are chosen by price and forgotten by February. A padel gift is different for one reason: the recipient uses it every week, in front of other players. A leather racket cover with your mark pressed into it is seen at the club all winter; a printed polyester one is in a drawer by January.

This guide is about the part buyers underestimate, which is not the object but the list: who gets what, how the name gets onto each piece, and whether the calendar still allows a custom run. The wider buying logic is in corporate padel gifts in leather.

How do you tier the gift by account size?

Do not give everyone the same object. Sort the list into two or three tiers and give each tier one piece, so the gesture scales with the relationship.

Tier Piece Why it fits
Key accountsLeather padel bagLargest branding surface, carried to every match
Regular clientsRacket coverLight, takes a large logo, best cost-to-impact in the range
Team and partnersCover plus a small piece (ball-tube sleeve or luggage-style tag)Makes a set; the pairing is the one used in club welcome packs

The cover is built to the maximum FIP racket size (45.5 × 26 cm, 38 mm thick), so one cover fits every recipient's racket and nobody needs to be asked which model they play.

What does a mixed list cost?

Our published target prices, ex-works and per unit on a short run of a standard product customised with your logo, are 95 € for a cover and 130 € for a bag, within a 75–180 € range depending on the product. Take 10 key-account bags and 30 covers: 10 × 130 + 30 × 95 = 4,150 €. Freight, duties and any gift presentation are separate, and are best settled in the brief.

Say the split explicitly ("10 bags and 30 covers", not "about 40 gifts"). The split changes how the hide is cut, and therefore the price.

How do you personalise each piece for a named recipient?

Split the marking into a fixed layer and a variable one.

This keeps the late-changing information, the names, out of the critical path: the run can be produced before the list is closed. How each method behaves on leather is explained in leather logo: deboss vs metal plate.

Can you still order a custom run for December?

Count back. A custom run takes seven to nine weeks from first contact to delivery: a sample of 10–14 days, 2–3 weeks of production after you approve it, plus your approval time and freight. For delivery by 15 December, that puts the start between 13 and 27 October. At the end of October a new design is already at the edge of what is possible.

If you are past that point, three options, in order of how much they preserve:

  1. Repeat an approved design. If the colour, logo and format were approved last year or at an event, a repeat runs in three to four weeks. For 15 December, that means ordering by mid-to-late November.
  2. Make it a January gift. A "start of the year" gift avoids the December logistics peak and lets the sample be approved properly.
  3. Choose the smaller object. A cover is the lowest-risk item against a tight date. The full backwards calendar is in corporate padel event gifts: lead time.

What we would not do is approve the colour from a photograph to save a week. The sample is where a wrong shade is caught.

What should you decide before writing to a supplier?

Because the leather is tanned in our own plant, the colour can be reproduced next year, which is what makes the shorter repeat route available. The certification behind the leather is covered in LWG Gold from a Spanish tannery.

Planning a client gift run?

Post it on the open Business Board in RFQ · Production: quantity per tier, branding method and delivery date. Smaller runs or batches shared with another brand fit Partners & factories. To judge the leather first, request samples in your colour.

Frequently asked questions

When is the last date to order a custom leather padel gift for December?

For delivery by 15 December, a new custom design has to start between 13 and 27 October (seven to nine weeks). After that, a repeat of an approved design (three to four weeks) or a January delivery are the realistic routes.

Can each client's name be on their gift?

Yes. Carry the name on a variable layer, laser engraved on the finished piece or on a small engraved metal plate, so the run can be produced before the list is final.

What is the smallest run we can order?

The leather carries no minimum; colour and cutting die set it. We publish 30 units per model for a standard product customised with your logo, split across colours.

Which item should key accounts receive?

The padel bag, which has the largest branding surface. Regular clients receive the racket cover, built to the FIP maximum so it fits any racket.
