Leather Padel Tournament Prizes: Engraved Bags and Covers for Clubs

A trophy sits on a shelf; a leather bag with the tournament crest goes back to the court every week. How to plan podium prizes in real leather for a club tournament, tier by tier, and how to work back from the final.

A guide by TL San Martín, a tannery of origin in Elda (Alicante, Spain) since 1995, LWG Gold certified under the Leather Manufacturer standard.

Padel tournament prizes in leather are racket bags, racket covers or small accessories in real hide, marked with the club crest, the tournament name and the year. Winners get the bag, finalists the cover, everyone else a small piece. Because padel is played in pairs, every podium place is two prizes. We tan the leather in Elda in 160+ finishes, so the colour can match the club.

Why give leather instead of a trophy or a polyester bag?

A club tournament hands out prizes in front of the whole membership, so the prize is also the club's best advertising moment of the month. A cup stays in a cabinet. A polyester bag with a printed crest cracks within a season. A leather racket bag or cover with the crest pressed into the hide goes back on court every week and is seen at every match, at your club and at everyone else's. Padel is also big enough now to justify it: the Playtomic Global Padel Report 2026 counts more than 58,300 courts worldwide, so a club's tournament calendar is competing for attention with a lot of other clubs.

If you are building the wider programme (team kit, member gifts, pro shop), start from custom padel bags for clubs. This guide covers one job: the prize table.

How many prizes do you actually need? Padel is played in pairs

Count players, not places. Every podium position in doubles is two prizes, and that is the number most organisers forget when they ask for a quote.

Item Who gets it Example: 4 categories
Leather racket bagChampions4 categories × 2 players = 8 bags
Leather racket coverFinalists4 × 2 = 8 covers
Small leather piece (card wallet, keyring, ball-tube sleeve)Semi-finalists or all participantsper head count

That is a prize table of 16 premium pieces before you count participants. Say the real split in your request (for example "8 bags, 8 covers, 60 small pieces") rather than "around 80 units": the split changes how the hide is cut and what it costs.

Which prize goes to which place?

Pick by tier, not by budget alone.

  1. Champions: the racket bag. Largest branding surface and the object the winner keeps using. See the leather padel bag specification.
  2. Finalists: the racket cover. Light, visible on court, and the best cost-to-impact piece in the range. The cover is built to the maximum dimensions allowed by the International Padel Federation (45.5 × 26 cm, 38 mm thick), not to one racket model, so any winner's racket fits. Details in the leather padel racket cover guide.
  3. Everyone else: a small piece, cut from the same hide lot so the whole prize table matches under the club lights.

How do you put the tournament name and the winner on a leather prize?

Split the marking in two layers. The fixed layer (club crest, tournament name, year, category) is identical for every piece in a run and is pressed in during production. The variable layer (the winner's name or the position) can be added by laser on the finished piece, or carried on a small metal plate that is engraved separately once the result is known. Which method suits which layer is set out in leather logo: deboss vs metal plate: blind deboss for the crest, foil for a tournament title, laser for fine lettering, a plate when the name must be added after the final.

Specify the leather for use, not for the photo. For a bag that will live in a car boot and on a wet court surround, we recommend pigmented leather with a top-coat. Aniline, nubuck and suede look beautiful on the prize table and stain within a season.

How far ahead of the final should you order?

Tournaments do not move, so work backwards from the final.

Step Typical time
First sample1–2 weeks
Approval of sample and markinga few days
Production of a short run3–4 weeks
Total from first contact to deliveryabout 7–9 weeks
Repeat of an approved design from a previous edition3–4 weeks

The leather is tanned and finished in our own plant in Elda, so the material is not the bottleneck. Anything under six weeks in total needs the sample stage compressed on purpose, so say your final date in the first message. If the tournament is an annual event, keep the approved design: next year's edition becomes a repeat order.

Who pays? Club, sponsor or entry fee

A sponsor often funds the prize table, and that is a strong reason to choose leather: the sponsor's logo sits on something that is used for years. Two logos on one piece need planning of positions before the die is made. The co-branding logic, and how to build a tiered gift set for a company-sponsored event, is in corporate padel gifts in leather. For the club-shop side of the same hide lot, see the padel club merchandising supplier checklist.

Is a single club prize table too small for a run?

Often yes, and it is honest to say so. What sets the minimum is the colour and the cutting die, not the headcount: choose a finish from the library and an existing format and no new dye lot or die is needed. A prize table of one small club can still be too small to justify its own run. In that case post it on the open board, where another club or a brand can share the same lot: the open board, category Partners & factories. Request leather samples first so the committee judges the colour and the marking on the real hide, from a tannery that is LWG Gold certified as a Leather Manufacturer.

Planning a club tournament and want leather prizes?

Tell us the number of categories, the split of bags, covers and small pieces, the marking you want and the date of the final. If your prize table is too small for its own run, post it on the open board under Partners & factories, or request leather samples to see the finishes on the hide.

Frequently asked questions

Can every prize carry the winner's name?

Yes, in two ways. The category and tournament are pressed in during production. The name is added by laser on the finished piece, or engraved on a metal plate once the result is known. Say in the brief which one you want.

How many prizes should we order for a four-category tournament?

Count players, not places. Four categories with a champion and a finalist pair each is 8 bags and 8 covers, plus small pieces for the semi-finalists or participants.

Can the prize match our club colours?

Yes. We tan and finish the leather ourselves, so the club colour is built at source in the 160+ finishes of our library or matched to a reference, rather than approximated from stock.

What if the tournament is in six weeks?

It can be done only if the sample stage is compressed, which means an existing finish and format and a fast approval. Send the final date with the first message and we will tell you what is realistic.
